Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar OTT Release: Parvathy Thiruvothu’s Hit Malayalam Thriller Arrives on Netflix, Fans Rush to Watch!

Malayalam Crime Thriller Creates Fresh Buzz as Digital Premiere Begins on October 9

The Malayalam film industry has another major talking point as Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar, starring Parvathy Thiruvothu, makes its much-awaited OTT debut. After attracting attention in theatres with its crime-investigation storyline and engaging suspense, the Shahad-directed thriller is now available on Netflix from October 9, 2026. The digital release is expected to bring the film to an even wider audience, particularly among fans of Malayalam crime dramas and investigative thrillers.

The film has generated considerable interest for its unusual title, police-station setting and morally complicated storyline. Parvathy’s appearance in a police role has also become one of the major talking points surrounding the project.

What Is Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar About?

The title Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar roughly translates to “Prima Facie Offenders,” referring to people who appear guilty based on the initial evidence. The title itself hints at the central question of the story: can the truth always be understood from what appears obvious at first glance?

Directed by Shahad, the investigative crime thriller revolves around a murder at a police station and the events that follow. As the investigation develops, questions of responsibility, evidence and the complicated nature of human behaviour become increasingly important.

Rather than relying solely on conventional action sequences, the film builds its narrative around mystery and investigation. Its premise invites viewers to examine the difference between suspicion and proof, making the title particularly relevant to the film's central conflict.

Parvathy Thiruvothu Takes on a Police Role

One of the biggest attractions of the film is Parvathy Thiruvothu, who takes on a police character for the first time in Malayalam cinema. Known for her performances in content-driven films, the actress brings additional interest to a story centred on investigation and the challenges of police work.

The supporting cast includes Mathew Thomas, Vijayaraghavan, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya Prasad and Vinay Forrt, among others. Their presence adds depth to a narrative that explores different characters and their connections to the unfolding investigation.

The screenplay is written by P. S. Subramanyan and Vijesh Thottingal, while Arjun Selva has produced the film under the 11 Icons banner.

From Theatres to Netflix: Why the OTT Release Matters

Released in theatres on September 11, 2026, Pradhama Drishtiya Kuttakkar gained attention through audience discussions and positive word-of-mouth. Entertainment reports have also highlighted its reported entry into the ₹50-crore box-office club, marking a significant milestone for the production.

Its arrival on Netflix on October 9 represents an important next step in the film's journey. The OTT release gives viewers who missed the theatrical run an opportunity to watch the thriller from home. It also allows audiences outside Kerala and Malayalam-speaking communities to discover another recent Malayalam crime drama.

Digital releases have become increasingly important for regional cinema, helping successful theatrical films reach new viewers and maintain public interest beyond their original release windows.

Why the Film Is Trending Now

The combination of Parvathy Thiruvothu's first Malayalam police role, the film's investigative premise and its newly available streaming release has created a timely reason for renewed discussion.

For thriller enthusiasts, the central mystery and police-station setting offer an appealing alternative to conventional action films. For Malayalam cinema fans, the film's theatrical journey and digital debut provide another example of how regional productions can build audiences across multiple platforms.
