Two senior IAS officers A Gopi Krishna and DANICS officer Anand Kumar Tiwari have been suspended by the Center in connection with the Delhi liquor policy case. Both officers were named in the FIR filed by the CBI as part of the ongoing investigation, officials said.
Krishna, a 2012 senior officer from Arunachal Pradesh, Goa, Mizoram and Union Territories (AGMUT), was the excise commissioner of the Delhi government while Anand Kumar, a 2003 Delhi, the islands Andaman and Nicobar, Lakshadweep, Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Senior Civil Service Officer Diu (DANICS) was the Deputy Commissioner of Excise, News Agency PTI reported.

Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia is among 15 individuals and entities named in the FIR registered by the CBI in relation to alleged irregularities in the implementation of the Government of Delhi’s Excise Policy 2021-22. Delhi.

The CBI carried out searches on Friday at 31 locations, including Sisodia’s residence and the premises of some bureaucrats, including excise commissioner Krishna and two other excise department officials, and businessmen.
The new excise policy was implemented from November 17 last year under which retail licenses were granted to private bidders for 849 sales across the city divided into 32 zones. The BJP and Congress had vehemently opposed the policy and filed a complaint with the LG as well as central agencies for investigation into the matter.
