The main purpose of updating the app is to improve the overall performance of the app. Truecaller has rebuilt the iOS app codebase to better leverage Apple’s CallKit API. The company said the new version can store a 10 times larger list on the phone to quickly detect callers.

Truecaller also said local caller ID will increase as more people use the new version. The list is updated every three days for free users and daily for premium users.

Donald Trump’s social media app is under intense scrutiny by Google

Truth Social, the social media platform launched by Donald Trump to counter Twitter, has yet to gain approval from the Google Play Store and the former US president’s company was working “in good faith with Google”.

Google notified Truth Social of “several standard policy violations in their current app submission”, reiterating that “having effective systems to moderate user-generated content is a requirement of our Terms of Service for any app to be uploaded to Google Play”.

He said the Truth Social Android app complies with Google’s policies without compromising the promise to be “a haven for free speech.”
