Teachers’ Day: President Murmu will present the national prize to teachers tomorrow | Education


Indian President Draupadi Murmu will honor selected teachers with the National Teacher Award tomorrow, September 5, on Teachers’ Day 2022.

The event will take place at Vigyan Bhawan from 11 a.m., the Ministry of Education informed.

“The Honorable @rashtrapatibhvn Smt. Draupadi Murmu will honor the best teachers across the country with the National Awards to Teachers 2022 at Vigyan Bhawan New Delhi, tomorrow from 11 a.m. Stay tuned!” the ministry tweeted.

This year, 46 teachers from different parts of the country have been shortlisted for the prestigious award. Each award is accompanied by a certificate of merit, a cash scholarship of 50,000 and a silver medal.

Prime Minister Naredra Modi will interact with the winners in the evening.

The purpose of the National Awards to Teachers is to “celebrate and honor the unique contribution of some of the country’s finest teachers who, through their commitment and hard work, have not only improved the quality of school education, but also enriched the lives of their students,” according to the Prime Minister’s Office.
