Deputy Speaker of the National Conference and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, has criticized the Congress bid to secure Manish Sisodia’s resignation. “My limited point was about the conflicting positions of Congress regarding investigative agencies,” tweeted Omar Abdullah.

Deputy Speaker of the National Conference and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, on Sunday asked why the Congress was demanding the resignation of Deputy Chief Minister of Delhi, Manish Sisodia, pointing to the “contradictory positions of the party with regard to investigative agencies”.

“How does it work? When CBI/ED/NIA etc go after Congress leaders, these organizations are the discredited agents of the BJP, but when the AAP leaders are targeted, the credibility is suddenly restored. How can agencies be both credible and discredited?” he tweeted.

Abdullah, further responding to a tweet on his handle, said, “My limited point was about the conflicting positions of Congress regarding investigative agencies.”

Earlier Sunday, Congress demanded the resignation of Manish Sisodia in light of the CBI raids against him.

Addressing a press conference, Congress spokeswoman Supriya Shrinate said, “The AAP should stop hiding behind the education policy debate. The fundamental issue here is alcohol policy and how Delhi has been converted into the alcohol capital of the country.

She alleged that investigative agencies have been misused by the BJP to such an extent that even their righteous action, as in the case of an alcohol scam, looks suspicious.

Delhi Congress leader Alka Lamba asked why AAP supporters were not demonstrating in solidarity with Manish Sisodia and Satyendar Jain if they were clean.
