After winning a silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, India’s women’s cricket team is poised to build momentum and continue to produce good results. India will next face England in three T20Is and three ODIs. The first T20I will be played on September 10 at the Riverside Ground and ahead of the series, opening hitter Smriti Mandhana explained how really good 2022 has been for the women’s team.
“2022 has been a good year for the women’s cricket team, and we plan to continue that momentum with the upcoming Indian tour to England. We are delighted to have won the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games, we We will also look to replicate our success in the upcoming series,” Mandhana said in an official statement.
The Indian team will continue to rely on their star players, Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Harmanpreet Kaur, Sneh Rana and Jhulan Goswam among others to navigate a successful streak.
On the other side, Team England will be looking to bounce back from their loss to Team India at the Commonwealth Games with help from Natalie Sciver, Sophie Ecclestone and Katherine Brunt among others.
The highly anticipated series will once again test India’s women’s team as they look to beat the England team on their home turf. The entire India England tour would be shown on Sony Sports Network.
